this is probably my favourite book ive ever read, and im not just saying that as a library tech student! this book is a very easy read, but not in a boring way. i couldnt put this book down and finished it pretty quickly. i think theres beauty in the mundane if you know how to look for it, and this book points it out. there are 4 characters we follow in this book, all of them have issues they're struggling to cope with, but find exactly what they're missing in the library with the encouragement of the librarian. this book made me cry a good number of times. Michiko Aoyama has a way of inspiring the reader just as the librarian inspires the characters we get to know in this book. i cannot reccomend this novel enough.
